    Unrivaled Chicago Street Food

    Since 1963

It All Began in the Dog House

In 1963, Dick Portillo invested $1,100 into a small trailer to open the first Portillo’s hot dog stand in Villa Park, IL, which he called “The Dog House.” Years later, Portillo’s has become a brand synonymous with Chicago. In fact, we’re kind of a big dill– people say it’s not a real trip to Chicago unless you eat at Portillo’s. Fortunately, die-hard fans and first-timers alike have their choice of Portillo’s restaurants, as we’ve beefed up to more than 70 locations across several states.

    Our Food is Unrivaled

We’re known for our famous Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, chopped salad, cheese fries, homemade chocolate cake, and chocolate cake shake. Our Italian beef is slow-roasted for four hours, thinly sliced, and served on freshly baked French bread. Then, it’s dipped in hot gravy made with our homemade blend of seasonings that we’ve been perfecting for 50 years. Haven’t tried Portillo’s yet? Order an Italian beef, dipped with sweet or hot peppers (add mozzarella if you’re feeling cheesy), or a Chicago-style hot dog “dragged through the garden” and you’ll see what all the hype is about.

  • Little Matt’s

    Little Matt’s

    6203 Edloe St.

    Houston, TX 77005

    (713) 592-6200

Little Matt’s was founded on faith, love, and hope.

From the beginning, the goal has been to donate proceeds from this restaurant to Texas Children’s Hospital, while spreading encouragement and gratefulness in our surrounding communities.

For a decade, through Little Matt’s, Jim Reid has thanked God for his son’s life and survival of leukemia; strongly supporting TCH and other Houston area organizations.

Our dream is to continue this mission while remembering our son’s journey. Bobby lived almost 8 years with a rare disease called oxalosis. The expertise of the TCH Renal/Dialysis team and the anonymous gifts of organ donors gave our little boy hope and an incredible quality of life. He played, worshipped, laughed, and loved! We thank God every day for time: time to know him, time to watch him grow, time to see him change others, and time to savor memories. Our hope is that Bobby’s faith and bravery, during his short life, might live on through us and the wonderful customers we serve.

Our daily prayer is that this restaurant will remember and honor all the “special” families, hospitals, and organizations that show courage each and every day.

The Wish Wall continues to serve as a reminder of our blessings, prayers, and constant hope in Jesus Christ.

We are thankful to: West University, Southside   Place, Bellaire, Southampton, River Oaks, Meyerland, Memorial, the Medical Center, and the surrounding Houston area for supporting this special place.

    In His name,

    Bill and Cindy Lillard

  • Saint Arnold Brewing Company

    Saint Arnold Brewing Company

    2000 Lyons Ave.

    Houston, TX 77020

    (713) 714-3335

Saint Arnold Brewing Company, located in Houston, is Texas’ Oldest Craft Brewery. Our goal is to brew world class beers and deliver them to our customers as fresh as possible making them the best beers in Texas and Louisiana. Our customers are beer lovers – people that appreciate great, full-flavored beers.

Our small crew does everything at the brewery: brew the beer, filter the beer, keg the beer, bottle the beer, sell the beer and drink the beer. For us, this is a passion, not a job. We believe that this comes through in the beers we make. Our beers have soul.

We brew several different beers; some are year round, some are seasonal, some are special release, and a few are single batch brews. They are available in bars, restaurants, grocery stores, liquor stores and warehouse stores throughout Texas and Louisiana.

Our first keg of beer was shipped on June 9, 1994. Founded by Brock Wagner and Kevin Bartol, we chose Houston because, other than living here, this was the largest city in the country that did not have a microbrewery. Brock was a longtime homebrewer and had considered opening a brewery as far back as college, although that was quickly dismissed as a silly idea. Seven years after graduating, Brock revisited the idea, enlisted Kevin’s help and the brewery was off and running. Kevin has since left the business after a bitter battle. (Just kidding – but don’t you wish people wrote that when it was the truth?).

Please visit us if you are in Houston. We are open seven days a week.
