    Unrivaled Chicago Street Food

    Since 1963

It All Began in the Dog House

In 1963, Dick Portillo invested $1,100 into a small trailer to open the first Portillo’s hot dog stand in Villa Park, IL, which he called “The Dog House.” Years later, Portillo’s has become a brand synonymous with Chicago. In fact, we’re kind of a big dill– people say it’s not a real trip to Chicago unless you eat at Portillo’s. Fortunately, die-hard fans and first-timers alike have their choice of Portillo’s restaurants, as we’ve beefed up to more than 70 locations across several states.

    Our Food is Unrivaled

We’re known for our famous Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, chopped salad, cheese fries, homemade chocolate cake, and chocolate cake shake. Our Italian beef is slow-roasted for four hours, thinly sliced, and served on freshly baked French bread. Then, it’s dipped in hot gravy made with our homemade blend of seasonings that we’ve been perfecting for 50 years. Haven’t tried Portillo’s yet? Order an Italian beef, dipped with sweet or hot peppers (add mozzarella if you’re feeling cheesy), or a Chicago-style hot dog “dragged through the garden” and you’ll see what all the hype is about.

HOME OF THE ORIGINAL LOADED FRIES

Welcome to the original Burger Joint where we build the best burger you’ve ever had. We start with only the freshest ingredients and build it just the way you like.

Make sure to make it a combo and try one of our many fry options and your choice of a dipping sauce and a drink.  To get the total experience, top your fries with one of our home made topping!

    THE BEGINING…

We started in the food business in 1995 in Houston, Texas!  Owned and operated four locations prior to House of Fries.  Our focus has always been to develop a taste menu offering creative food items with option to please all dinners.  It all had to start with the finest burger this world has ever tasted, with a special focus on fries varieties, complemented with  home made dipping sauces and amazing home made toppings!  So, we offered many specials at our previous locations and selected all the winners to create our current menu, which is begging served at the House OF Fries (HOF).

Our secret?  The best ingredients is a big part. An unrelenting love for the burger and the fries is the other big part. Between those two, we think we pretty much have our burger bases covered.

We love our customers and treat each and every one with respect. Many start out as customers and before long they become friends and part of the HOF family.  I will say that is our best asset.

WE USE ONLY THE BEST INGREDIENTS THAT KEEP
CUSTOMERS COMING BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN.

MEET THE FOUNDERS CRAIG AND DOROTHY BATISTE

Mr. Fries Man is a family-owned restaurant part of a revolutionary underground foodie frenzy

Mr. Fries Man is a black family-owned restaurant chain that specializes in loaded french fries. The founder of Mr. Fries Man is Craig Batiste, a Los Angeles native who started selling his fully loaded fries in random parking lots before opening his first brick-and-mortar location in Gardena, California. Since then, the chain has expanded to over 20 locations across the country, including one in Houston, Texas.

Mr. Fries Man’s menu features imaginative toppings on fries, such as jerk chicken, shrimp, and vegan options. The restaurant has received positive reviews for its unique offerings and quality of food.

in 2016, Craig Batiste, co-owner along with his wife Dorothy, is one of several urban chefs in LA who have worked their way up from a home kitchen to a restaurant in Gardena, CA. Their strong social media presence captivated their audience, which resulted in a remarkable following.

Located in EaDo near downtown, guests will find menu items named after famous local personalities, craft beers, a spacious dining area, huge outdoor patio and quality beef raised at 44 Farms

Proudly serving some damn fine creative burgers made with house-ground 44 Farms beef and the best ingredients. Fries made from fresh Idaho potatoes that are hand-punched every day. Cold craft beer (including ridonculous local and Texas drafts), signature cocktails, and an AWESOME DOG-FRIENDLY PATIO! Patrons rave about the mouth-watering Chaca Oaxaca burger, a beef and chorizo burger with avocado, pico de gallo, queso fresco, Tabaso mayo and a fried egg. Prefer something a little lighter? A (small) selection of salads are also offered and a beef or chicken patty can be added to fulfill that protein craving. Desserts include a variety of milkshakes, pies and “Goat Balls,” which are obviously fried balls of brie served with blackberry compote – whew.
